Merrydowners Morris ..... Originated in 1990, the team assembled from local volunteers and a few 'pressed men' to provide entertainment at our local church fete, St Albans Church, North Harrow. It started out as a 'one-off' fun performance but soon turned into a more serious past-time as the team members started to enjoy the experience.

We now regularly perform at events throughout the year and have on the odd occasion been known to 'dance out' at one or two pubs in the local area, the 'Queens Head', in Pinner High Street being our most regular venue.
Many of our performances tend to be in nearby towns and villages but we have from time to time been called upon to entertain at a few very prestigious events, including the Euro' 1996 football reception at the Guildhall, City of London. In 2003 we were part of Harrow's 20th anniversary cultural exchange with Douai which is Harrow's twinned town in France, and in 2004 we visited Hong Kong as part of London's entry in the Hong Kong Chinese New Year celebrations.
We have also appeared on the BBC TV programme Face the Music and were featured teaching an unsuspecting individual the basic art of morris dancing.
Our philosophy about Morris dancing is quite simple, we dance because we enjoy it, we also enjoy helping maintain a very English tradition and we always try to bring a sense of fun and culture to people who may not otherwise be able to experience it.
We are always on the lookout for new members, male or female and practice regularly at a venue in North Harrow. If you are interested or just want to find out more click on Contact Us
